24/11/2011· miller 211,using one size bigger tip for flux core wire Just purchased an mm211 don''t have gas yet,so I used the flux core, ,, well, ,,it SUCKED! lol. It got hot on all settings ,swelled inside the tip and stuck constantly, needless to say I was pretty miffed! I don''t think

13/11/2017· You should maybe re-post this question in the ''Learning MIG welding'' section of the forum as it may not have too many views here. Flux core is a type of MIG welding. Instead of a solid wire, the wire is a tube with the centre (core) filled with flux. Some flux core can
The demand for flux cored arc welding (FCAW) has grown significantly over the past 10 years. Manufacturers who weld carbon, stainless, low-alloy, and high-alloy steel are turning to this process primarily because: Enjoy full access to the digital edition of STAMPING Journal, which serves the metal stamping market with the latest technology advancements, best practices, and industry news.

(mind you I haven''t run wire for nearly 10 years) I switched out to .030 and the finished product on the 1/8" was much better, and when I did some thinwall sq tube, some 10ga it was sweet! I am leaving the .030 in the machine for most of what I am doing and when I crank it up to 1/4 and better, I will switch wire.

To the original question, if i was wanting to make 3/8" single pass fillet welds I''d use, without question, flux core wire, either NS3M or (much more likely)311Ni. I''ve run quite a bit of 311Ni in 5/64" size and it is a very high deposition wire in flat/horizontal positions, and meets the harshest seismic requirements.
26/1/2014· I have a gas-less SIP 155T. The manual says it should use 0.9 mm flux cored wire. I aim to the use the welder for car paneling and a Land Rover chassis. I am brand spanking new to welding and will practice on scrap metal first. I have read that 0.8 mm flux core is
6/7/2020· This flux core wire works the same way the flux on an arc welding stick electrode works. When the metal gets hot and melts, the wire melts the flux core, which turns to gas and shields the weld. So in some ways, flux core welding is actually better than MIG welding, because a breeze won’t ruin your weld the same way it will with a MIG machine.
For many welding appliions like vertical-up welding, flat welding, welding over galvanized, or welding hard-to-weld steels, a flux-cored wire can do it better and faster. Although gas metal arc welding (GMAW) with a solid mild steel wire is popular, easy-to-use, and effective for many appliions, it does have limitations and drawbacks.
In semiautomatic or automatic wire welding, the electrode, electrode reel, welding head, nozzle or semiautomatic welding gun are also electrically “hot”. 3.d. Always be sure the work cable makes a good electrical connection with the metal being welded. The
